Account: your email address, used to sign you in (a one-time code is emailed to you) and to contact you about your subscription.
Synced content: tracks, markers, lines and activities you choose to save, including location and any fitness or heart-rate data in imported activity files, so they appear on every device you sign in on.
Location: the app uses your device location to show your position and, only while you record, to build a track. Coordinates for requested forecasts and map areas are sent to our service providers to return the requested information. Saved locations and recorded tracks are uploaded when you sync them.
Payments: handled by RevenueCat and Stripe (web) or Apple (App Store). We never see your card number. We receive subscription status and a customer identifier.
Usage and diagnostics: server logs (IP address, requested layers, timestamps) to run and protect the service. The iOS app uses Sentry to report crashes, app hangs and technical errors, including stack traces, app and operating-system versions, device model, and fixed labels describing app operations. We do not intentionally attach your account identity, email, saved content, coordinates, screenshots or network request details to these reports. We use diagnostic reports to find and fix reliability problems.
How we use it
To provide the service, keep your content in sync, manage your subscription, answer support requests and protect against abuse. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Service providers that run parts of Vertex: Cloudflare (hosting and file storage), PlanetScale (synced account database), Sentry (crash and error diagnostics), WorkOS (sign-in emails), RevenueCat and Stripe (billing), Apple (App Store purchases), and Mapbox (base maps). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Your choices
You can export or delete your synced content, cancel your subscription, and delete your account from the app or by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your email and synced content from our systems within 30 days, except purchase records we must keep for tax or legal reasons and a minimal account identifier and deletion timestamp needed to stop outstanding sessions from restoring deleted content. Deleting an account does not cancel an Apple or web subscription; cancel through the store or billing provider to stop future charges. Local maps and activities stay on your device until you remove them.
